Reflections on #T4G12
Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of His glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. – Jude 24-25
I cannot fully express how blessed my soul was in being able to participate in the T4G conference of 2012. God was articulated in such a way that we could almost see Him there among us. I liken it to what I believe the Galatians must have experienced when sitting under Paul’s preaching of the Gospel in Galatians 2. God was glorious, majestic, sovereign, and powerful as His Word was preached with faithfulness and awe. But He was also shown to be near, He was displayed as sustaining, and He was revealed as faithful with much gratitude and humility. There were no gimmicks or slight of hand. We were not simply amused by anecdotal stories. We were taught the Words of God. Words that my heart loves to hear.
My sincerest thanks go out to the men who served us at the conference. To Mark Dever – a man who has been blessed with an ability to organize and uses that gift to bless God’s people; to Albert Mohler – a scholar who stands in the gap so that our faith is defended; Kevin Deyoung – a man who relentlessly pursues Truth; Thabiti Anyabwile – a man of deep sincerity and integrity; Ligon Duncan – a ferocious gentleman who spoke to a part of my spirit that few men have dared to address; David Platt – a man whose passion for the unreached has marked my heart; CJ Mahaney – a man whose passionate humility and joyful service blessed me beyond words; John Piper – a man who makes me long for Home every time I hear him preach; Matt Chandler – a man who has been my teacher and father in my faith even though we have never met. Thank you all from the deepest part of my heart. The only thing that could have made it better would have been being able to tell each of you these things face to face. May the Lord continue to fill you all with the knowledge of Himself and His Word. May the Lord continue to watch over your hearts, your families, and your ministries. May the Lord continue to use your voices and passion to open eyes for the glory of His Name. Grace and peace to you all in Christ,
JOT
